Meet Dr. Tanja Ricciardi
BSc (Neuro), BSc (Chiro)
Tanja Ricciardi is a Murdoch University-trained Chiropractor (2018) with a strong science background and a practical, whole-person approach to musculoskeletal care. With earlier study in neuroscience and years spent across hospital research, private sleep clinics, sports settings, and university teaching, Tanja brings a calm, considered style to helping people understand their bodies and stay active with confidence.
Qualifications & Professional Background
Tanja holds:
- BSc (Neuro) — University of Western Australia (2006)
- BSc (Chiro), BChiro — Murdoch University (graduated 2018)
- ASCA Strength & Conditioning Level 1
Before qualifying as a chiropractor, Tanja worked as a research assistant at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in sleep and respiratory medicine, supported care in private sleep disorder clinics, worked as a sports trainer for football clubs, and taught anatomy at Murdoch University to Bachelor of Science students.
Why Chiropractic?
Tanja has always been drawn to the complexity of human anatomy and psychology—and especially how they shape pain, movement, and recovery. She enjoys looking for patterns, connecting the dots, and using that understanding to tailor care that helps people move well and manage flare-ups over time.

Tanja’s Approach to Care
Tanja’s focus is simple: help you keep doing the things you love—whether that’s running, swimming, strength training, dancing, or lifting up the grandkids.
Her care is typically built around individualised plans that may include:
- Hands-on care such as adjustments, mobilisation, and soft tissue therapy
- Supportive techniques like dry needling, taping, and shockwave
- Exercise prescription you can realistically continue at home or in the gym
Tanja also believes the best outcomes often come from nailing the foundations. Alongside hands-on care and movement, she takes time to consider factors like sleep quality, hydration, daily movement habits, nutrition basics, and stress.
What Tanja Loves Most About Her Work
One of Tanja’s favourite parts of the job is helping people feel calm and capable around pain. Pain can be unsettling, but it’s also a common human experience. Tanja enjoys supporting people to listen to their bodies, understand what’s going on, and keep moving in ways that feel safe and sensible—without fear taking over.
Outside the Clinic
Away from work, Tanja is a big believer in strength for life. You’ll often find her strength training 3-4 times a week (as she likes to joke, she’s “prepping for her old lady body”). She also enjoys social netball and tennis, long walks with friends (preferably ending with a coffee), and gardening—including trying to grow her own food.
