Your First Visit to Our Innaloo, Perth WA Clinic

You will be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Help is on its way!

What to Expect

Please set aside upto 15 minutes for your initial visit. We shall review old x-rays and reports if necessary and go through some new patient forms. In this shall be an in depth history and evaluation of your condition/s.

We'll check your blood pressure, reflexes, sensation, muscle strength and posture first. We'll then move onto more specific special testing, using movements to detect where the true site of pain is coming from. You'll be shown exactly what it is that is causing your pain and or postural abnormality with the aid of models of the human skeleton and wall charts specific to your condition.

We'll go through a recommended program of care outlining the treatment frequency, goals and outcome measures to asess improvements. Then we'll get to making you better and provide your first treatment.

Your Second Visit

Generally the second visit focuses on how your body has adapted since the first visit. We'll ask specific questions related to pain level, activities of daily living, improvemnts in movement and ambulation etc. Then we'll go through some general movements and palpate the spine and its structures to detect mis-alignment, or if you have an extremity injury we'll assess that joint for tenderness, swelling, ranges of motion and pain. We may use therapeutic ultrasound or interferential, TENS, heat/cold compresses and massage techniques before chiropractic manipulative therapy. You'll also be given your rehab and exercise prescritive routine.

Regular Visits

The remaining sessions shall usually be spread over the next few weeks, we are not in the business of making people return 3 times each week for the rest of their lives and wish to get you back to health eventually on a monthly maintenance care.

Dr Roddy Asks some important questions of interest to Innaloo residents - Chiropractor Innaloo Dr Roddy Asks...

Can someone who has had back surgery receive chiropractic care?
Yes. Rest assured that we will avoid the surgically modified areas of your spine. However, what we find is that surgical interventions will often produce spinal instability above or below the involved level. This is will be the focus of your chiropractic care.
How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
